The Central Tibetan Administration only cares about its own interests
We should clearly understand the existence of the Central Tibetan Administration and its true nature. The CTA leadership is more interested in satisfying their political hatred and maintaining their channels for ill-gotten gains than in working for the welfare of Tibetans.
The Central Tibetan Administration’s leadership constantly talks about how difficult life is in Tibet under Chinese rule and how the Tibetan people are oppressed. If that were true, why aren’t they taking action? Sixty years in exile, and nothing has changed. These so-called leaders have made little progress toward fulfilling the aspiration of all Tibetans: achieving inner unity within Tibet.
Instead, Tibetan media is filled with news of scandals, segregation, and mutual recriminations. Today, there’s almost no news about their advocacy work, which appears to be primarily funded and carried out by international non-governmental organizations (NGOs). These NGOs are often run and maintained by non-Tibetans, with minimal involvement and input from the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA). The problem is that life in exile has become so comfortable that the CTA leadership has forgotten their significance.
They can buy houses with money from unidentified sources and have multiple bank accounts. They can take out loans and then repurpose them as gifts or donations. They can solicit donations under the pretext of helping earthquake victims but never actually disburse the money, depositing it instead into their own bank accounts. They can travel freely using one of their many international passports while undermining their own people’s ability to obtain different passports. They can send their children to the best schools and universities around the world. They can relocate their families to Western countries.
